New Silicone Implants

New silicone implants have been on the market for the last three years. In 1992, the FDA, a division of the U.S. government, banned the use of silicone implants within the country due to the belief that the silicone contributed to higher rates of cancer and other disorders. After 14 years, the silicone products were allowed back on the market, though they were changed considerably. The new silicone implants are most commonly found in a gel form. This thicker liquid allows for the product to remain in virtually one shape and it allows for the implant to remain in place for the long term. It is less likely to experience rips and tears and rarely folds over. In addition, many people believe this new silicone product is a better choice because it looks natural.
