Although the evidence to support such claims is not proven, manufacturers of these implants have changed the product to a gel based product rather than the traditional liquid. This helps to keep the silicone stationary, helping to avoid any leaks and ruptures that may occur. This also increases the amount of safety associated with these implants. Nevertheless, doctors should explain the risks associated with silicone and other types of breast implants available to the patient.
