Silicone cohesive gel implants are one specific type of breast implant. The material found within these implants is a soft solid. If cut in half, the cohesive implant would have no gross movement of the gel. The gel maintains the shape it is in, providing for a uniform look to the individual. This gel is a thicker form of silicone. The ingredients in silicone cohesive gel implants and traditional silicone implants is virtually the same, but the difference is that during the manufacturing, the company uses a cross linking method to create a more firm gel. This occurs adding what is referred to as a crosslinker.
