Traditional saline implants are filled with a solution that is a salt-water mixture. This provides a liquid feel to the implant when it is touched. A second option is a saline gel product. This gel is placed in the implant the same way as a traditional saline implant, but the gel hardens slightly to provide more of a thicker, gel like structure. While still soft to touch, this form is not a flowing as the liquid version. This provides more natural feeling to the breast implant than the traditional saline solution.
