Types of Saline Implants

There are several types of saline implants available in the United States. The main difference between the various types of implants is in the solution that is used to fill these implants. Traditional saline implants are filled with a solution that is a salt-water mixture. This provides a liquid feel to the implant when it is touched. A second option is a saline gel product. This gel is placed in the implant the same way as a traditional saline implant, but the gel hardens slightly to provide more of a thicker, gel like structure. While still soft to touch, this form is not a flowing as the liquid version. This provides more natural feeling to the breast implant than the traditional saline solution.
