Fat Injections May be Option for Sensitive Patients

Plastic surgeons in many companies are experimenting with fat injections instead of implants or dermal fillers for plastic surgery procedures. This is because many people have allergic reactions to the fillers, and therefore have complications after their surgery.

Breast Implant Options

Many patients do not realize that when they go in for a boob job, they actually have options. Most understand that they can choose between silicone and saline, but most are in the dark about the incision options. The patient can choose where she wants her scar to appear after the breast is inserted.

Breast Implants Part of “Mommy Tune-up”

After pregnancy, many women consider plastic surgery. Carrying a child for nine months takes a toll on the human body, and parts start to sag and droop. Some women opt for tummy tucks or liposuction to get rid of their excess fat and tissue around their abdomens. Another popular procedure is a breast augmentation.

After pregnancy, most women note that their breasts grow and drop with the weight of breast milk. Saline or silicone implants can not only round out the breasts, but also lift them up and make them look fuller and sexier.

Johnson and Johnson Buys Breast Implant Company

The largest medical technology company and household name, Johnson and Johnson purchased Mentor Corp. for $1.1 billion dollars earlier last week. The company manufactured silicone breast implants and liposuction products. Last year, it made over $373 million in sales.

Silicone or Saline?

When choosing the material for breast implants, women are often given two main options- saline and silicone.  But which one is better?  Many patients do not know the difference between the two materials and the pros and cons for each one.

Oregon Elects Transgendered Official

The nation’s first transgender mayor was recently elected in the town of Silverton, Oregon.  Stu Rasmussen was mayor in 1988 and 1990, but he has made a comeback as Carla Fong.  He now wears mini-skirts and low cut tops to show off his new breast implants.  He also wears makeup and curls his long red hair.

This political move has made the transgendered indvidual much more accepted in our society.  To become a transgender individual, men must undergo plastic surgery to change their anatomy. Many also begin hormone therapy.

Implants of Patient’s Own Fat Controversial

You may have read a lot lately about the revolutionary new technique of implanting a patient’s own excess fat into their breasts, instead of gel, saline, or silicone implants.  The fat is removed via liposuction from the patient’s stomach, thighs, or buttocks, and then injected back into the breasts.

Free Botox Injections?

While surfing the Internet, you are bombarded daily with endorsements and advertisements. Many are scams that promise free cell phone ringers or tropical vacations if you fill out surveys with dangerous amounts of personal information. One of the latest trends in free product giveaway has been plastic surgery.

Some Silicone Implants Come with a Lifetime Warranty

You have probably heard many horror stories about silicone breast implants recently. Either that a woman’s body refused the implant or she was unable to breastfeed her children. Many of these stories are based on hype and myths. In reality, about 95 percent of the women who receive implants have a successful surgery. Only 5 percent have what amounts to an allergic reaction to the silicone. However, silicone is a safe, naturally occurring element- and used in many of the products that we consume on a daily basis- including cow’s milk and babies’ pacifiers.

Women Seeking Breast Implants Now Able to Test Drive

Plastic surgeons have invented a new way for potential bust implant patients to experiment with the sizing of their new implants. Most augmentation revision surgeries are because the patient chose the wrong size for her body type. Surgeons want to prevent women from the pain of going through two augmentation procedures, so they have invented Purlz.
